PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Kyle Brennan's Qualifications
Complex Hitting Coach, Houston Astros
Jan 2023 - Present
As the player development point man for the Houston Astros' injured position players, Kyle plays a crucial role in a collaborative team. His responsibilities span from Major League long-term rehabs to acute FCL injuries. Collaborating daily with medical and S&C rehab coordinators, he ensures meticulous planning of skill work progressions and creates individualized schedules tailored to each player's needs and complex activities.

In practice, Kyle wears multiple hats. He focuses primarily on rehabbing players as a hitting coach while working extensively on throwing optimization and catching defense, contributing to IF/OF defense early in the return-to-play process. Kyle has built a culture of professionalism, bicultural unity, optimism, and an expectation of progress. Beyond skill development, Kyle is pivotal in cross-departmental initiatives, notably with Performance Science, Sports Medicine, and Innovation, ensuring a comprehensive approach to rehabilitation and player improvement.
